Newsletter 2008

Hello Friends of Camp's Bay,

From our family to yours, we hope everyone had a wonderful holiday season and we extend our warmest wishes to you for 2008. After a green Christmas last year, snow has arrived early and we are excited about a normal snowy winter. If you have to have cold weather, you might as well have plenty of snow to play in!!!

We are looking forward to a busy Christmas as our family grows to include Valerie Cheam, (Adam's girlfriend) and Scott Watson (Lindsay's boyfriend). It promises to be a loud and busy Christmas feast.

Murray and I would also like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who was on holiday at Camp's Bay when Erin got sick last August and September for your well wishes and prayers. She has recovered amazingly and as of November 4th, finally got a bill of clean health from her doctor and has resumed her studies for nursing.

The summer of 2007 was another successful year for most of the fishermen, women and children who took part in some fishing both off the docks and out on the lake. The weather was good and if you flip through the pages of our web site, you will find some beautiful pictures of fish caught by guests of Camp's Bay like these ones below.

Many guests also enjoyed some time at the beach and some of their other favourite summer time activities while staying at Camp's Bay.

As for renovations, we are back to major construction this year. We have totally redone cottage 6, which now has a screened-in porch and brand new kitchen. Cottages 2,3,4 & 7 all have new custom kitchens and cottage 9 and 12 have custom built cupboards to upgrade the old ones. We are putting in some new docks too. Cottage 1 and 12 will be getting brand new docks and cottage 10/2's dock will have a new top/deck and a few docks will be repaired and straightened up. Finally, we are in the midst of building a brand new cottages (14) on the vacant lot beside cottage 12. It will be an executive 4-bedroom with a screened-in porch, deck and private dock and beach as well as satellite television, gas fireplace and washer/dryer and dishwasher (5 appliances). Needless to say, this is the biggest year for changes at Camp's Bay thus far.

Once again, we are preparing ourselves for the 2008 Eastern Show in Harrisburg Pennsylvania, which begins February 2nd through 10th, and we are in booth #5009 in the Marine/Fishing Hall. If you are in to see the show, please stop by to see us.

A reminder to all our guests who need to cross the boarder: Passports are not a necessity until the for summer 2009. Effective January 2008 a government issued photo id and proof of citizenship such as a birth certificate or natralization certificate or passport must be presented. Children age of 18 and under will need to present a birth certificate, naturalization certificate or a passport to enter the U.S. We encourage you to go ahead and get your passport as it is inevitable that it will become a necessity and you can still avoid the rush. Please click on our bulletin board tab for exact details. To access the information and download the documents to obtain a passport, check out the following web addresses: http://travel.state.gov/passport

for children under 14 years of age go to: http://www.travel.state.gov/passport/get/minors/minors_834.html

We hope you all have a prosperous and fantastic New Year and we look forward to seeing everyone this upcoming summer. Keep an eye on the web site as new pictures will be popping up during our annual web sites update now and throughout the New Year. If you have a picture you would like to share, please e-mail or regular mail it to us and we would love to add it to our collection.

Yours truly,
Sue & Murray, Adam & Valerie, Lindsay & Scott, Erin, Emily & Evan
